In 2002, the Turner Foundation hired MSI to explore the redevelopment potential of the urban core of the City of Springfield. MSI’s vision for re-energizing downtown includes:

• Converting parking areas into a central green that connects a civic area in the south and a park/trail system and Wittenberg University in the north;
• Identifies opportunities for public/ private redevelopment partnerships
• Provides general cost estimates to prioritize park improvement recommendations.
